I was recently given a live “guest DJ” appearance on one of my favorite podcasts, Sean White’s Nefarious Bovine Radio.
If you ever wonder where I get the inspiration for my songs and playing style, I keep no secrets about the musical gold I found in Latin America. This is a good chance to hear some of it.
We sat at my place with some fine dark rum and played my favorite tracks by Puente Celeste, Santiago Vazquez, Gaby Kerpel, Pedro Luis Ferrer, Elis Regina, Changos, Norte Potosi, Aca Seca Trio, Banda Hermética and then returned home with The Wood Brothers. (We also talked a little about my newest record.)
